February 2011

Cowbridge health centre is now complete. The project was extremely hampered by continued prolonged periods of bad weather, which despite the contractor's best efforts they were unable to regain the time lost during the duration of the contract. The building was handed over to elated clients early February, which will now encompass a number of doctor's practices within the Cowbridge area into one purpose built building.

Working in collaboration with ISG Pearce on the Cardiff County Council framework, we recently successfully completed a new £1.8 million children's care home facility on the outskirts of Cardiff. The new building was handed over to the client January 2011.

Now, over to the other side of the road with the same team to commence the new records office for Thornhill Crematorium!

Due to continued growth, we are pleased to announce the appointment of Mark Fouweather as a Senior Structural Engineer. Mark has joined the Austin Partnership following a number of year’s sabbatical from engineering as an independent property developer.

Following the recent successful completion of the £3.5 million ‘new stores building’ at Chevron Oil Refinery, Pembroke dock. We have been commissioned by Chevron to continue with the £17.0 million investment programme for the second phase works of the new firehall, medical centre and associated infrastructure works.

“It was generally recognised that the team worked very well together and was well balanced, with good cooperation across the functions and disciplines.  In actual fact as the team worked so well, we are continuing onto the Firehall project.  The committed and professional approach of the consultants is to be commended, and was a major contribution to the successful completion of the project”
